Dr. Yakubowski was born in Saskatoon and raised on an acreage near Dalmeny, SK. She attended the University of Saskatchewan where she completed a Bachelor of Science (with high honours) in Biology and published a research paper in Neuroethology. She went on to complete her Doctor of Optometry degree with honours from the University of Waterloo in 2019. Jasmine completed externships at Parkland Health and Hospital in Dallas, TX and private eyecare clinics in Victoria, BC and Red Deer, AB. She has performed volunteer optometric care in Haiti with the non-profit organization VOSH. Jasmine was president of the UW Sports Vision Club and assisted with performance enhancement vision therapy and Paralympic vision screenings. Dr. Yakubowski also has a special interest in Low Vision rehabilitation and received the William Fleinboom Low Vision Award for excellence in low vision care from the University of Waterloo. Jasmine has a passion for all things sports and travelling. She enjoys hiking, softball, volleyball, horseback riding and spending time with family. Dr. Yakubowski is excited to join the Doctor’s Vision Care Team and provide vision care closer to home.
